"One Of Many Questions Asked By Parkinson Patients"

When my mother-in-law was first diagnosed with Parkinson Disease her question was, does it effect your mind (or) would she loose her mind.

While all the Doctors were telling her no, my wife was very skeptical about that answer.

Though my wife said nothing to her Mom to keep her from worry, she discussed this with me.

After the many years of suffering, her mom went through with Parkinson's disease, she continued to ask this question (Does Parkinson's Disease Effect Your Mind).

The real answer is YES. While it doesn't do so in the beginning stages of Parkinson disease,

it does effect your mind in the last stages.

My mother-in-law is now in her last stages of Parkinson Disease and sometimes she doesn't know who my wife is.

She also has hallucinations and is very paranoid. She also has very poor short term memory.

I would say that her mind is greatly effected by the Parkinson's.

Please let me know your thoughts and experiences on this issue.
